If you are planning a holiday to Scotland’s capital based around a pub tour, you’ll be in good company! Edinburgh has a plethora of pubs to suite every taste, from the exclusive style bars and gastro-pubs to the traditional, unspoilt Scottish “locals” offering whiskies, real ale and real atmosphere.

To give you a true taste of unique Scottish hostelries, venture to the historic inns of the Old Town, or join the in-crowd as they crawl the fashionable bars on George Street.

Your trip will also include a spooky old town Witchery walking tour and the excellent Edinburgh Literary Pub Tour, just to get you geared-up for your nights out on the town. Will you still be partying when the last pub calls time at four in the morning?

Itinerary:

Day 1 Arrival in Edinburgh, settle in at your hotel, where you will be staying for 2 nights. Afternoon spent at leisure, with free time to visit either Edinburgh Castle or the Scotch Whisky Heritage Centre (entry fee not included). This evening prepare to be spooked by the ghostly goings-on of the Witchery Tour. Visit the scenes of many horrific tortures, murders and supernatural happenings within the historic Old Town of Edinburgh. Your guide under the cloak of darkness is the well-known city character Adam Lyal (deceased). Afterwards, enjoy a self-guided tour of the city pubs, our pub tour paperwork will point you in the correct direction– you can linger as long as you wish or wander on to the next bar on the list! Overnight Edinburgh (Tailors Hall Hotel or similar)

Day 2 Breakfast in your hotel. If you don’t surface in time for breakfast we will supply a list of Edinburgh’s best all day breakfasts and scrumptious pub grub! Enjoy your day at leisure to recover from the night before; sightseeing options are almost endless in Edinburgh. This evening you will join the Edinburgh Literary Pub Tour, enjoyed in equal measure by the well read and the well oiled. Afterwards continue your pub tour of last night, or follow in your footsteps if you can remember the way! Overnight Edinburgh.

Day 3 After breakfast depart from your hotel and return home.
