| Carp Fishing in Central England – Drayton Reservoir |
|
Arguably the best match fishery of its type in England, Drayton Reservoir’s match record currently stands at 410lbs and it remains a firm favourite amongst anglers. The reservoir is stocked principally with carp, also perch to 2lbs, roach, tench and pike.
Be warned - do not leave your rod unattended – over 100 rods have been pulled in by fish at Drayton!
In winter, the pike fishing is excellent, with fish to nearly 30lbs recorded.
The reservoir is surrounded by specially designed walkways and stages with 129 match pegs available. Fishing times are 7.00am until dusk, car parking and toilet facilities are available.
Our break is based at Paramount Daventry Hotel in Northamptonshire, England, conveniently located only a few hundred yards from Drayton, the hotel boasts full leisure facilities, the Waterside Restaurant, and a bar where you can swap stories of the days carp fishing. |
