Director Jay Russell's eagerly awaited screen adaptation of Dick King-Smith's much-loved children's novel, The Water Horse - legend of the deep has now opened in cinemas around the world.
Lonely young boy Angus MacMorrow finds a mysterious egg on the shores of a loch, which soon hatches a sea creature of Scottish legend – the Water Horse. Angus vows to protect the rapidly growing hatchling but won't be able to keep it a secret for long.
The same team who did the special effects on Peter Jackson's "King Kong" and "Lord of the Rings" films - Weta Digital and Weta Workshop - will be creating the effects for "The Water Horse."
