Best of Scotland Holidays
Proposal for
Scotland Golfing Incentive using Helicopters

Day One

Arrival into Glasgow Airport. Transfer by Helicopter (Eurocopter AS 365 Dauphin) to Skibo Castle, the home of the Carnegie Club, one of the world’s most exclusive private clubs, named after the celebrated philanthropist and steel magnate, Andrew Carnegie.

At the turn of the 20th Century, Carnegie was the richest man in the world and Skibo was the estate he chose as his home in the country of his birth. The 7,500 acre setting is as stunning today as it was a century ago and the castle, imposing yet comfortable, enables guests to feel at home straight away.

Skibo Castle

Hidden away in a romantic Highland landscape of contemplative beauty, Skibo provides luxurious hospitality, magnificent links golf and traditional country sports.

There can be few, if any, golf courses anywhere in the world with more beautiful views than those at Skibo. Recently improved, the restyled 18-hole championship links course, which hugs the shores of the Dornoch Firth, affording magnificent views of the surrounding hills, moors and woods, offers a fine challenge for golfers of all standards.

Your overnight stay at Carnegie Club in on an all inclusive basis.

Day Two

After breakfast in Mrs Carnegie’s Dining Room take a private transfer to Royal Dornoch Golf Club to play the championship course. Tee-off time to be confirmed.

Royal Dornoch is proud to be one of the original locations of golf in Scotland. Centuries before the golf club was founded records show the game was being played in 1616 on the town land on the links along the seashore. It was Old Tom Morris who had the honour of really designing the Championship Course before John Sutherland added the final gloss.

Royal Dornoch Golf Club

In 2006 they celebrate 100 years of their Royal title!

Return to Carnegie Club by private transfer. Afternoon at leisure to enjoy the leisure facilities or outdoor activities at Skibo. Dinner and overnight Carnegie Club.

Day 3

After Breakfast depart the Carnegie Club and transfer by helicopter to Westin Turnberry Resort on the Ayrshire coast.

Westin Turnberry Hotel

Situated on a magnificent stretch of the Atlantic coastline, with the gently rolling Scottish countryside at its back, Turnberry is unquestionably one of the great resorts of the world.

Set in 800 acres of one of the most beautiful corners of Scotland, Turnberry's fascinating provenance and idyllic natural position render any stay a memorable experience.
At its heart is an internationally renowned hotel, a five star experience of superb accommodation, fine dining, relaxing lounges and friendly Scottish hospitality. Here luxury and beauty go hand in hand, providing the perfect backdrop to a range of unrivalled sporting, leisure and business facilities.

Enjoy an afternoon round of golf on the Ailsa Course, home of The Open Championship in 2009. Tee-off time to be confirmed.

10th Hole on the Ailsa Course, Turnberry

Enjoy a Whisky Tasting prior to dinner in the main restaurant.

Day 4

After breakfast take a private transfer to Royal Troon Golf Club to play the Old Course. Tee-off time to be confirmed.

Postage Stamp, Royal Troon

One of the great links courses in Scotland, the Old Course is a challenging test of golfing ability. With the wind to contend with, and deep rough interspersed with gorse and broom, accurate shot making is essential. Players should make their scores on the outward nine, as the prevailing north-westerly wind can make the back nine extremely difficult.

After golf return to Turnberry for an afternoon Falconry lesson. This ancient sport of kings is truly an awesome spectacle to behold. And at Turnberry, you’ll experience these magnificent birds of prey at close quarters in their natural surroundings. This exhilarating activity allows you to witness the striking beauty and splendid flight of these peerless predators.

Dinner and overnight Turnberry.

Day 5

After breakfast depart Turnberry and transfer by helicopter to Machrihanish Golf Club on the Kintyre Peninsula.

Machrihanish Golf Club

In 1878 Tom Morris described Machrihanish as, “Specifically designed by the Almighty for playing golf”. Little has been changed to disturb the natural scenic beauty and inspiring challenge of this delightful course. The outward nine holes follow the hills and hollows among the sand dunes bordering the Atlantic.

After golf and time for refreshments in the Clubhouse, take a helicopter transfer to historic Culzean Castle, for the finale of your tour – a stay in the grand Eisenhower Apartment.

Culzean Castle, Ayrshire

In November 1945 General Eisenhower was invited by the Kennedy family of Culzean to accept the tenancy of a specially created guest flat on the top floor of the castle. General Eisenhower and members of his family stayed here several times and also lent it to friends.

After his death, The National Trust for Scotland and Scottish Heritage USA, a charitable corporation that has provided valuable support to Culzean, opened the apartment to a wider public. It is now a unique venue for Scottish hospitality and is also one of the Trust’s flagship properties.
